Massachusetts Painting Expedition

Massachusetts Painting Expedition

At the beginning of June I took a little solo trip with my paints to Massachusetts. It was a huge cross off my bucket list. I got to paint some pretty wonderful spots that differ extremely from what I'm used to painting on the west coast. I made my way to Hyannis Harbor and painted a lighthouse. I was so excited because there aren't any lighthouses in California. Then a day in Concord meant getting to paint the Minuteman Statue surrounded by the greenest foliage while also getting eaten alive by various bugs and standing out in a thunderstorm. Trying to capture all that in a painting was quite the memorable experience. Then came the actual dream come true. I took a ride on up to Rockport MA and got to paint the very famous and most painted building in the world, Motif #1. It was the most charming coastal harbor town. With art galleries all around, whole lobsters and fishing boats galore made it quite possibly one of my favorite places. It then began to pour down rain as I was thankfully finishing up the painting. It was one of my favorites from the trip despite the rain. "Hyannis Harbor Lighthouse"
